The First Thing I Change in My Skincare Routine When It Gets Cold

This is about the time of year I notice my skin feeling different. The heat’s on in the house, I’m reaching for a warmer coat, and my face can feel tight after I wash it. That’s usually my cue to pay a little more attention to the moisturizing step.

The first thing I change is when I put my moisturizer on. I pat my face gently after washing and put it on while my skin is still a little damp. If I walk away to make coffee or do something else, I know how that goes. By the time I remember, my face is dry and I’m already halfway through my morning.

I also pay attention to where my skin feels dry. Sometimes it’s mostly my cheeks. Other days, my neck could use a little extra too. I start with a small amount and add a little more where I need it. That’s easy enough to do while I’m standing at the bathroom counter.

My own sensitive skin is a big part of why I started making skincare in the first place. I wanted products I’d be happy to reach for every day, and a routine I could keep up even on a busy morning. My Bamboo Moisturizer is one of those everyday products for me. It’s also one of the products my customers come back for most often.

If your face has started feeling tight after washing this week, try putting your moisturizer on a little sooner and see how your skin feels. You can start with the one you already have. And if you’ve been curious about the Bamboo Moisturizer I make in small batches here in Lillooet, you’ll find it on my Spa By Camille products page.
